The client sought a solar PV system that would fit seamlessly with the new build’s environmental goals and safety requirements. Westwood Energy was tasked with installing a system that would integrate with other building technologies while ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
15.39kW | Yorkshire
Westwood Energy completed a 15.39kW solar PV installation for a newly built day care nursery in East Yorkshire. This project, part of a larger development, integrated PV with other eco-friendly technologies, ensuring a cutting-edge facility. We coordinated with the client’s contractors to align with project timelines and incorporated SolarEdge’s Firefighter Gateway for enhanced safety.

How much could solar PV save you?
38 Modules: Viridian 405W
Inverter: 1 x 12.5K SolarEdge
Optimizers: 38 x S500B SolarEdge
Mounting System: Viridian Inlay
Metering Solution: SolarEdge
Safety Feature: SolarEdge Firefighter Gateway
We worked closely with the client’s other contractors to ensure the solar PV installation was completed smoothly and on schedule. The integration of SolarEdge’s Firefighter Gateway provided a critical safety feature, enabling rapid DC shutdown in the event of a fire alarm activation. This installation represents phase one of a two-part scheme, which will ultimately deliver a total of 33kW of PV generation.
The installation generates 186MWh annually, with 66% of the energy consumed on-site and 39% of import demand offset. This results in annual savings of approximately £5,800, contributing to the nursery’s sustainability goals and offering a strong return on investment.
