The client brief was to install a visually sensitive installation which would not impact on the aesthetics of the surrounding grounds and business centre, but also take the site close to “net export” status, in that it would generate more energy over a 12 month period that it would consume.

This scheme came with significant heritage considerations, with close working requirements needed with the LPA to ensure a compliant scheme. The scheme was designed to provide a significant proportion of its generation to the onsite biomass boiler – which is fed by renewable fuel grown on the estate.
We also undertook additional services as part of our PV installation package; skylight removal and replacement with solid sheets (fire risk mitigation), purlin stay installation to ensure structural calculations were met and the installation of Schneider BACNet meters for integration with site wide the BMS.
Forecasted 110% generation vs. energy demand, offsetting a further 26% of onsite energy demands.
”"Westwood have been straight forward, informative, efficient and positive throughout the entire PV install here at Harewood. We found their approach refreshing, always bringing solutions, which given our important heritage location was not always easy. We look forward to working with them again on our next renewable energy project"
