Benefits of our agricultural solar PV

It is not uncommon for agricultural enterprises to have peak electrical demands coinciding with daylight hours. Fortunately, this aligns with generation profiles produced by solar PV, making it great investment. In the world of solar PV the choice of inverter manufacturer plays a critical role in deciding the outcome on performance, flexibility, control and scalability of your system. This is why we revolve all of our installations around SolarEdge optimised solutions, offering module level performance, module level monitoring and safe DC systems.

The Process – Full Turnkey Delivery

    Initial Visit

An initial visit allows us to understand your site in detail and whether there are any limitations. We use this opportunity to get a good understanding of how much electricity you use and how we can reduce your imported energy demands.

    Design

From our initial survey, we are able to create a 3D model of your site, including any buildings and surrounding objects/trees. From here we can insert modules into the design, giving a view of how your system will look. This model also allows us to show you how much electricity will be generated.

    Application & Survey

Once a design is agreed we submit a new generation connection request (G99) to your DNO, apply for planning permission or prior approval with your LA, undertake structural assessment with our third party engineers, and conduct a pre-start survey.

    Installation

Following receipt of successful connection agreements, planning consents and structural approvals, our highly skilled team work efficiently to deliver your solar PV project on time and with minimal disruption to your business.

    Commissioning

After installation, one of our technicians will commission your solar PV system. We will then undertake a full handover with you and ensure you understand the key facts around safe operation of the system. Our team will also organise any metering and export sales contracts that are required.

    Monitoring & Maintenance

We strongly believe that our service doesn’t stop after commissioning, we monitor your system remotely to ensure maximum uptime and highest yields. We use products with industry leading warranties, giving you peace of mind. All our installations are backed by Westwood Energy Ltd’s service level agreement.

    SolarEdge vs String Inverters

    SolarEdge DC

    Design Versatility

Using advanced technology, we create a design that best utilises the available space, adapting to varying roof pitches, orientations and shading factors. The software we use allows us to accurately design around limiting factors and provide you with an accurate report on the viability and performance of the proposed system. This also ensures our designs are manufacturer certified and aligned with industry regulations.

    SolarEdge Monitoring

SolarEdge provide our clients with a simple and free-to-use mobile and desktop based app, which allows you to monitor in real time your Solar installation. The app gives insights into how much energy your system is generating, performance ratios on self-consumption vs. export and the balance of power from either solar or grid import. Utilising the benefits of optimisation, we are also able to “map” the module layout on the roof, providing you with panel level monitoring and energy outputs from each module.

    Export Contracts

Most solar installations will produce more energy than the site can utilise. Exported electricity generates additional revenues, on top of savings for off-setting imported energy costs. This can be a complicated process, we therefore offer services to set up export contracts on your behalf. We combine all our export customers within one selling group, which benefits from preferential pricing.
